The Tree of Life . . .

LOVE The Tree of Life… Part 1

Let the leaves of your tree fall
On to the land with ease
It’s with these leaves we’ve built our walls
it’s with these leaves we’ll grow
They’re leaves of sadness, sorrow and grief,
that serve us e’r no more
They’re meant for you to shed, to show

how far you’ve come and need to go
They’re simply for your life to see
reflect where you are meant to be
A place where sun shines all day long
your roots to firmly grow more strong
Your leaves will shed and fall away, blown by the winds of change

to bring you growth in color green
to shine for your new soul
The leaves are meant to blow away
to bring you forth
and leave behind
the life that brought you pain and strife
to no more beg to shine

For your new leaves, are happy leaves
to stay with you anew
in your new life of pleasantries
of which you thought you knew
Let the leaves of your tree fall
and let your love for your life grow
LOVE The Tree of Life… Part 2

The sadness sorrow pain and strife
you displayed and wore so well
For those who did or could not see
the pain you buried deep within
can now arise with you and shine
to celebrate the newest you inside
To live your life you will find
you’ll cycle round and round
forever left to linger on
to watch, observe, and learn and grow
into whom you’re meant to be
The Lord has brought you forth to shine

to be his salt and light
for you to bring His message forth
to steer and give new life, new birth
to those who are perishing
right before our very eyes, a little at a time
their lives, they slowly spiral down
into a life of slime

We watch afar standing on the distant shore

As they drown in muck and miry clay
hoping they will take
the ring we throw to save their life
our hand in theirs to take
to walk ashore with us to grow
for Heaven’s sake
For without our light so bright
they can only grow more dim
So let your leaves fall to the land
with ever so a gentle breeze, and mellow whim

Do not judge or ridicule

those whom the Bible refers to as a fool
They are lost and so were we
at a time when we refused to see
our Jesus was always there
longing to gently set us free
Free from our bondage, aches, and pains
that scar us to this very day

LOVE The Tree of Life… Part 3

’twas satan’s plan to watch us rot and laughed as we decayed
It was not something I could foresee or even knew could be for me
I thought all Christians were somehow . . . a slice of nature’s freaks
All so very prim and proper ~ not what I was used to having seen
Their lives all squeaky clean
oh, no!
That is so, so not for me!
. . . Or so I thought ~
I wanted life to be full of love and fun!
To be just like the world who drank, and smoked and lived to party on

That’s what I longed to be
thinking that life of fun would somehow set me free
Oh, how wrong was I . . .
That I now so clearly see
It was a painful path for me to take
as I was led astray
believing lies the devil spake
who joyed to see me flee
a life of comfort, and protective covering
from this he wanted me
to be his little toy in paw
to smack, and shake and beat
Oh, and how he did!
he beat me down into a pulp
taking my mind and soul
off to hell, well on my way
~ until that very special day!
My brother, Gerardo,
who is known as my HERO!

came to rescue me
from the pit of hell
of which I went off to so willingly
it was satan’s darkest plans I followed ignorantly
Sadly, there are so many others just like me
as if their boat had sunk to leave them lost at sea

He stretched forth his hand in love for me
and I took it ~ but not so freely
I’d slam the phone down in his ear
For I thought I knew the light from dark
And as I slammed that phone down in his ear
It was pride ~ eating away, and guiding me
I am so glad that he never chose to give up on me
On with his calls he went
Always so lovingly inviting me
To come with him to his new church . . .
For him and for his gift
of showing me the way
I am so forever grateful!
For if he hadn’t left the path of destruction and turned his life around
I would not find my feet to touch the solid ground

the ground is firm
here to support
all of our miseries
to lift us on up to higher planes
of joy, and life abundantly!
For now it is my joy to see
what it is the Lord has so willingly
Lovingly and freely offered me!
It is a life that sometimes hurts
but in the end is glee
It’s with much hope I long to see
those who hurt to join with me
to get to know this Lord of mine
that took my hand and heart for all time
His name is Jesus Christ, you see
from birth He came to love you
just as He does me
There is not one that He can’t save
out from the snare of the demon king
He was with you yesterday
here with you today,
and His promises are forevermore
to be with you always
Oh, lost one, what is it that
sets you back from holding fast
to that which is so very rich in Truth?
Do not be one to go the way on that dark path
to end up satan’s ruse
For once you leave this world behind
there is no more to do . . .
once you’re gone far from this place
who will it be you stare in the face?
will it be the one of fiery coals
or will you make Heaven your heart’s goal?
Oh, sweet one, with Love I seek
to see you long for Jesus~ to be His freak!
So, come with me and take my hand
join with me in this fine land
where neither moth nor rust corrupt
and spend eternity!
Let the leaves of your tree fall . . .
On to the land with ease
With the Love of our Lord and Saviour’s
Gentle Loving Breeze

Psalm 1 ~ Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.  But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.  And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly [are] not so: but [are] like the chaff which the wind driveth away.  Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Luke 4:18 ~ The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised.
Jeremiah 17:5-8 ~ Thus saith the LORD; Cursed [be] the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.  For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, [in] a salt land and not inhabited.  Blessed [is] the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.  For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and [that] spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.

I found life
the One and only...
-Savior of life -
truly joyful...
to be free.

This is why I sing to give praise...
to the King
who has mastered every...

this life.

I will jump
and breath...
and fall...

The Mercy of God is an Ocean Divine

Mercy of God is an Ocean Divine
By: Gracie Showalter

The mercy of God is an ocean divine,
A boundless and fathomless flood.
Launch out in the deep, cut away the shore line,
And be lost in the fullness of God.

Launch out, into the deep.
Oh let the shore line go.
Launch out, launch out in the ocean divine,
Out where the full tides flow.

But many, alas! only stand on the shore,
And gaze on the ocean so wide.
They never have ventured its depths to explore,
Or to launch on the fathomless tide.

And others just venture away from the land,
And linger so near to the shore
That the surf and the slime that beat over the strand
Dash o’er them in floods evermore.

Oh, let us launch out on this ocean so broad,
Where floods of salvation o’erflow.
Oh, let us be lost in the mercy of God,
Till the depths of His fullness we know.

I watch

as the broken pieces of my life

in tandem

working diligently

to come together . . .

they reunite

reshape and reform

that which was broken through pain and strife

to then become

what is now

my beautiful life.

Scandalous Pursuit

By: Keri Crowell Duckett

There are days when the gospel hits me like a ton of bricks.
Days when my heart has been cold and forgetful and adulterous to the Gift.
Days of busyness that have caused my sight to be shifted to myself.
I forget...

I deserve to be left to wander...
But no, He comes...
For no reason other than love...

He comes in the morning and in his ravenous mercy...
He brushes the filth from my eyes and says...
"See me"
And I see...

Suddenly in the trees and the traffic and the taste of my coffee, I see Him.
I see...

Though my heart, it wanders, He reminds me...
Undeserved rescue...
Scandalous pursuit...
I love it...

First Love

 By: Mary Jane Andrews

Do you miss me, when you're busy with new friends?
Do you miss me, or is this where our friendship ends?
Remember, when we did everything alike?
Remember, we talked late into the night...
(You caught my eye across the crowd,
Didn't have to speak a word out loud.
We shared tears and we shared laughs together,
Now tears, alone and laughs are never.)
When I call you, my message seems unheard.
When I do hear, it is just a casual word.
Do you miss me when things about you slow?
Do you miss me when your trouble seem to grow?
Then just call me.  I am never far away.
You can call me, any time or any day.
For  I miss you.  How I miss you.
Do you ever tell others what we had?
When you're thinking, does it ever make you sad?
(Do you sometimes wish things were the same,
When we called each other special names,
We walked along a summer road, Leaned close to hear a whispered word.)

“How I miss you.  - Do you miss me?”

Marriage Made In Heaven

By: Mary Jane Andrews

  Outside the jasper walls,
Peering in at His loving family,
A glowing contrast to the ashes and waste that surrounds me.
I stand in rags and wounds.

To my amazement the beautiful young groom holds out His hand and says,
"I love you."
"Me, a rebellious leper?" "Yes, take my hand, Come to Me".

"But I can't.  I've done my own thing,
Gone my ways and now I see...
I am dying alone, destitute."
"Take My hand.  Come."

" I can't!  I'm not worthy.
My skin crawls with filth!"
"Shhh, My love, take my hand."

I tentatively reach out and touch His gentle pierced hand.
He draws me into Him and He into me.
I am His bride...

I partake with His family.
Not left behind, not second place
But always and forever... blended and united,
Joint heirs...

Beyond the Intermission

Silence Broken
By: Nina Boe

I had grown so accustomed to it—expecting it, really—
So much so, that I almost wasn’t listening.
Funny, isn’t it?
To be so used to silence that one almost can’t hear
The still, small voice: it’s time.
And finally—finally—it dawns on me…
I can move on…and it’s okay.

For the first time in so long, I raise my head, neck stiff from a constant, downward bend—
And I look toward the dawn.
The sun is still shining, even if I’m no longer focusing on just the shadows it creates.
And hope, the persistent warrior, smiles in triumph as my heart finally begins to thaw
In recognition of my old friend.

Beyond grief and graves we come to you; in love and loss, we learn to live again.
In order to transform my mourning, I have to be willing to dance.
The silence, I realize, and its hold on my heart, has been finally broken—
While like Beethoven I thought I was deafened by silence…
Yet now, the music has begun once again.

Natural FountainL
By: David Mattioli

Bring life to this dead fountain...
Broken and used.
Bring the water that raises the dead...
From their tombs.
Help make these waters flow...
From every porthole.
Making the waters sweet...
And clean to drink.

Oh mighty Savior Jesus...
The one who came,
Healing the waters for You...
And the rest.
Filling cup after cup...
Over flowing of anointing.
Thank You my Lord Jesus...
For the love You give.
Not sparingly and without measure.

David Mattioli

Thought I would share this with you today... Part of my journal from this morning...
Blessings -

I see Jesus... sitting on a teeter-tooter in the middle of a small park – The park is between two buildings in a city – brick walls on either side – and both opposite ends lead out to the streets on either side... A few trees – but mostly little kid swings and slides - - that type of thing.

Ben! Jesus shouts out over the noise of the children ---

I run over...

“Have a seat” – Jesus says.

I set down where he points – and that’s on the other end of the teeter-totter...

Jesus pushes up with his legs and down I go... – When I reach the bottom – I push back up with my legs and Jesus goes back down- We do this for a little while – then Jesus stops... He steps off and so do I.

Once off – we walk together - over to a bench near the teeter-totter.

Ben? – Jesus says...

Yes Lord?

Just like this teeter-totter – we need to work together – Think of it this way- I’m in the spirit realm – on my side of the teeter-totter and you’re in the flesh realm on your side of the teeter-totter. – When I move I affect your movements – and when you move you affect my movements – If you obey and do my will – I can move in the spirit realm and move you – if you don’t move – you stay stuck at the bottom of the teeter-totter – but if you will move –and by move I mean – moving in my will for your life – then I can in turn make my move... This is a collaboration – a dance – a walk that we do together. If you keep doing things your way – it’s like keeping you legs curled up in a ball and I can’t make the next move... Do you see that?

Yes Lord – I see now... Never thought of it like that...

Ben, I’ve given you authority in the flesh realm – but for me to move in the spirit – you must do your part... I don’t mean do what you want to do and then I’ll hop on your bandwagon either. I mean when you obey the commands that I have already given you in my word and the words that I speak to you... then I can make my move. This is how the whole thing works – If I start moving without your cooperation and obedience then I’m breaking my laws – breaking my word – and I will not do that! So if you want to go further – you’ll have to move in sync with me...

OK Jesus – let's do this...

Jesus gets up and walks back to the teeter-totter – He gets on... I get on. - Up and down we go... He just laughs and laughs the most beautiful laugh.

Yes, Ben – like this... As you go though your day – just remember this picture and keep moving in step – in motion with me... Let’s do this...

OK Lord – I love you so much...

I love you too... Now let’s see how fast we can make this thing go... Jesus laughs and laughs – as he speeds up –

Keep up Ben! – Keep up!
Now I’m laughing too... Man I love this guy!

I love you too Ben! – Now keep up! He shouts... Keep up!....

Shepherd Boy

By: MAry Jane Andrews

I would have loved that shepherd boy,
In days we spent on distant trails.
We’d laugh at skipping lambs at play,
Butting. flapping undocked tails.

We’d help exhausted ewes give birth
And rub life into wobbly limbs
Or coax a grieving mother sheep
To suckle orphaned, starving twins.

We’d hear the buzzing insect wings
And crickets, when the morn would break.
We’d see the eggs when chick would hatch.
And guard them from the hawk and snake.

We’d hear the laughter from the brook,
Make whistles from a willow branch.
We’d sing with gratitude and joy
And celebrate with gleeful dance.

When storms would threaten o’re the sky,
We’d gather flocks and safely hide,
And watch the fire on the hills
Till rumbling thunder would subside.

We’d see the sparks from campfire fly
And join the canopy of lights.
We’d know the names and place of stars
That kept us consort through the night.

When darkness hid a threatening sound,
He’d play and sing till fears were gone
And gentle peace would settle down
And friendly night would turn to dawn.

When coyotes or a beast would stalk,
We’d shout and save the sheep from harm.
With strong and practiced sling and stone
He’d quell them with his strong right arm.

Though mighty lion rage and roar
And Evil send marauding bear,
I would find safety by his side,
Trusting in the shepherd’s care.

So much I’d learn from shepherd boy,
Alone, with God, he spent his nights,
Who walked in unfamiliar steps
And walked by faith and not by sight.

Oh Shepherd boy, I love you now,
Though ages separate us still
And someday we will make a song
And dance for God on grassy hill.

A sweet melody plays in the distant,
So sweet and clear
An angel singing praise to the Father

I will sing a song filled thanksgiving and joy
Of being the child of the King

Hold me close Lord
I sing a song to glorify Your name
Always and forevermore
I'm a willing servant to serve my Adonai.

My God and King provider of everything
To every person large and small
Glory to His name the song goes...
Be exalted Lord... of all.
For we are living sacrifices unto thee
Singing Your songs of praise.

Are you “BROKEN”? Good. Now you got something God can work with.

Written by: Julia Shalom Jordan

“The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God thou wilt not despise.” Ps. 51:17

Have you ever seen a “broken man?”  A man that is so destroyed, he no longer postures himself to disguise it?  This person has come to terms with his fragility and there is no more hiding.  This hopeless, feeble, searching and dependent state would cause most people to inwardly cringe at the thought. Every human being has their “breaking point”; a place where once he is taken there, he no longer is the same person again.
Many people live their lives in fear of this
“breaking point”.  Thousands succumb to a tedious life of mediocrity stuffing their mouths or emptying their wallets to numb the desire for more; because they fear the risk of where it might take them, or what it would make them.  Some loose themselves in reckless abandon to do “it all” before life consumes them or their window of opportunity. But, in God’s eyes, a man who has risked it all to no avail, and has come to the end of himself is actually in the best position. He is in the position to receive grace.

When a person is completely broken, he can now accept his personal fragility and come to the humble beginning place where
God can rebuild him.

God created man in His image and even with our human shortcomings, man is a masterpiece.  The gift of self-will has caused many to rebel with a spirit of pride. The nature of pride repels the hand of help from anyone–even God.  This is the quickest way to move
out from under the protection of the Almighty One.  Being broken is not bad; it is actually just the beginning.  The more broken you have become; the better God’s restoration power can be seen through you.  And when God is finished with the masterpiece of your life, it may not be what you expect, but it will definitely be better than anything you could have made of it.

“Dear Heavenly Father,
I am broken.  I am not going to lie or hide anymore for you see me as I am. When the doors are closed and the windows drawn, you know what a mess I truly am. I am so thankful to read that this is a gift to you.  In Psalms 51:17 it says that you do not despise me.  Oh, Lord.  I despise myself!  Lord, help me.  I am desperate for a change and desperate for a real life.  I would have thought that by this age, I would have gotten further.  But, Lord, I am here now, and I am asking for you to hold me in your bosom.  This is exactly where I need to be—and I cannot believe this is what I have been running from all along!  Thank you for your mercy.  I accept the love you are giving to me now.  Heal me so that someday soon, I will be able to show others just how good you really are.  In Jesus’ precious name, Amen...”

Night of Surrendered

I see Jesus – standing with His disciples – all gathered together in the garden – In the distance I can see the soldiers coming – coming to take Him away. There must me a thousand torches and lanterns forming an eerie luminous snake - As they make their way from the temple mount – down through the ravine of the Kidron and back up toward us.

Standing here now – as an eyewitness – The night before the crucifixion... it is more than an “out of body” experience. I almost
feel like I am invading a sacred moment in time. I feel like maybe I shouldn’t be here today...

“Stay with me – watch and write what you see – record what I show you. – Step through the veil right now and be with me. There is no time and space in the spirit realmneither forward nor back in time. Time has no hold on me- “I Am!!!”

WOW, Jesus – just saying those words
“I Am” shook me to the core. “What infinite power there are in those two words...” “I will watch Lord – and I will record –as you wish...”

The soldiers come closer and closer – the smell of their torches now fills the cool night air. The smell brings with it a sense of evil – like something more has entered our presence then just what - we can see. – The soldiers begin to form a circle around us – Their torches and lanterns forming a mantle, or ball of light - by which dark figures - cast shadows that flicker and dance in the night. I can see the breath of the soldiers – I hear them snorting for air after their hard climb. The night is filled with anxious anger – a palatable driving force- retrained for now – by their leader- their Tribune...

Whom do you seek? Jesus speaks loudly for all to hear...

Jesus of Nazareth! Comes back their reply – The words spoken with arrogance and pride – They are strong and defiant.... BARKED!!! out with extreme distain and irreverence...

“I Am” was all Jesus replied – as I watch even now I see the story unfold as it was told... The army of soldiers all battle hardened and fierce... Are thrown back - lifted off of their feet ! in an explosive sock wave – that emanates from Jesus as its source – Like a stone in thrown in a pound – the ripple effect - knocks them on their backs. They don’t seem to be able to move – there are all caught off guard -paralyzed and pined to the ground. The only ones who are still standing are the disciples, Jesus and myself. Even Judas the trader is laid out – incapacitated...

Jesus asks a second time...
“Whom do you seek?

But this time they answer – with
respect, reference, fear and awe... Quietly they respond... “aahhh... Jesus of Nazareth...?”

“I Am” Jesus says again... and again they are pined harder to the ground.

“I Am --- the one you seek – let these men go free and I will go with you...”

They don’t budge – they can’t move

Peter then takes his sword... One that he had concealed on him... Takes it out/ and cuts of the ear of the chief / temple guard /
Malchus. Going for the his head he misses taking only his ear...

Peter!!! Jesus shouts! – Put that away –
Those who live by the sword – will die by the sword! – Can’t you see... I have this under control? I don’t need your help! – Shall I not drink of the cup that the father has for me to drink? Now go – get out of here...

The disciples – take off – scattering in all directions...

OK... I am ready – you may take me now... Jesus says...
Surrendering to their will...

The soldiers slowly get up... Two soldiers come near Jesus - sheepishly – Jesus offers up His hands - They bind Him - and begin to lead him away...

Jesus turns to me and says...

I willing did this – I surrendered –
so you could live! --- I laid down my lifeI died for you...

Yes Lord – I say now crying...

Jesus still looking at me asks...

Will you die for me –
So I can live in you?

Yes Jesus – I love you so much...

“I love you too...” Jesus says... as they take Him away...

What Had He Done?

The people were many and the cry was loud
“Crucify, crucify!” came out from the crowd

The faint sound, a whisper, ran fast through the streets,
“What has He done? Why won’t He speak?”

Thrice, then the cock crowed, His last friend was gone,
Still the crowd mocked, but what had He done?

On His head a thorn crown was placed,
All human likeness had hence been erased.

A robe of purple was give to wear.
They tore from his beard, great handfuls of hair.

Once more from the mob came out the fierce call,
“Crucify! Crucify up on Mount Skull!”

Up the steep road He carried the cross,
Knowing today His life would be lost.

They pierced through His hands with old rusty nails.
Then through His feet. Oh, the pain that prevailed!

With all of His weight and the weight of the cross,
The sound of flesh tearing as it plunged in the rocks.

The earth trembled ’neath the darkening skies,
The mocking ceased as they looked in his eyes.

Not hatred or madness from Him did ascend,
But love and kindness from a heart-broken friend.

With one final breath, “It’s finished!” He cried,
He gave up the ghost and willingly died.

“Oh, what has He done?” I cried with a shout.
“And where is this paradise He told me about?”

The cold over-whelmed me, but now I’m so warm,
For now I’m in Heaven, this thief’s been reborn.

Through the awesome name of Jesus
We have authority to say...
Darkness --- be gone.

In His awesome glory
He lights our path as the darkness falls back.
It hides in the shadows.

He illuminates my soul,
My Lord empowers me with His love.
How awesome is our God
Who made the earth and sky.

In Jesus name, darkness flees
I have victory in my Savior.

Thank You God for sending Your Son
So I may say...
That I am saved by Your love and grace.
The darkness has turned back,
And the victory is won.

We are over comers in Christ
The victory is ours in Jesus
We are on the side of Light
The darkness must turns and run!

Kind To Wounded Hearts

Wounded Heart
He, the Messiah, is kind to wounded hearts.
He does not turn away from our naked, raw hurt.
No, he does not, ever will turn away.
He turns to us and embraces us in His carpenter's strong arms.
He will take up all our broken pieces,
and make us brand new.
